Kevin Nealon is a stand-up comedian and actor from St. Louis, Missouri who is perhaps best known for his work on Saturday Night Live as the anchor of the show's famed Weekend Update during the early 1990s. Following nearly a decade on NBC's seminal sketch comedy show, Nealon embarked upon a relatively successful career in film, teaming up on multiple occasions with fellow SNL alum Adam Sandler to co-star in his stream of successful "Happy Madison" films in the early 2000s. Nealon would near his creative peak as an actor and a stand-up comedian later in the decade, propelled even further by his celebrated role as Doug Wilson on Showtime's hit series Weeds.

    »National Harvest Festival

    September 21, 2014

This festival, which takes place at Silver Dollar City, is so big that it lasts well over a month. Over its six week run, it honors traditional crafts such as leather working, barrel designing, and the almost forgotten art of sorghum making. Caricature carving competitions and a Laura Ingalls Wilder exhibit add to the fun. Fans of bluegrass, country, and gospel music can enjoy almost nonstop performances from seven different sound stages. And if the kids get restless, there are always plenty of rides at Silver Dollar City to stem their whining. Please check the website for festival hours and prices.

    »Andy McKee

    September 23, 2014 8:00 PM

Even though Andy McKee cites metal and progressive rock bands and his main influences, his songs sound far removed from those two music genres. After hearing his virtuostic acoustic guitar finger plucking style it becomes immediately apparent why McKee is a follower of instrumentally intense music: he's a intense instrumentalist too. Since his 2001 debut studio album Nocturne, he has been offering an intricate, delicate approach to playing the guitar that is calming, soft edged and easy to absorb, but backed by a fiery passion for the art of playing guitar.

    »The Music Man

    September 26, 2014 8:00 PM

Earning five Tony Awards for its original 1957 Broadway debut, Meredith Wilson's The Music Man tells the story of a con man named Harold Hill who travels from town to town, swindling locals out of their money. His life becomes complicated however, when he falls in love with a woman named Marian. Adapted for film as well as television, the classic story always includes the original production's most iconic songs including "Iowa Stubborn" and "Till There Was You," which was later famously covered by the Beatles.
