Guster is an acoustic pop/indie rock band that formed in 1991 in Massachusetts. The members bring comedy and social activism to their music along with their instrumental and vocal talents, creating an atmosphere that feels like it has a purpose while it entertains. Look for offbeat covers and amusing lyrics as part of the show that is probably being taped by more than one audience member (Guster has an open recording policy).

One of the more noteworthy bands to emerge out of the early 21st century Brooklyn indie rock scene,The Antlers write intelligent songs that typically communicate a heart rendering message. Breaking out with its s 2009 album,Hospice, the LPtells the story of a hospice worker's relationship with a terminally ill patient--establishing a rich metaphor for an emotionally abusive relationship. Since emerging, the band has found a substantial fan base in the indie community and has gone on to maintain a busy recording and touring schedule.

Charlottesville, VA 22911
Dwight Yoakam is a singer/songwriter, actor and director who is probably best known for his contributions to the country music genre. Born in Kentucky and raised in Ohio, Yoakam began to show a keen interest in music from an early age. After he briefly attended Ohio State University, he dropped out in the late 1970s to pursue a career making music. Yoakam moved to Nashville to try and achieve his dream of making a living as a musician, but after finding no luck, he packed up his bags and moved out west to Los Angeles. In California, Yoakam established himself and his unique style of "hillbilly music" helped the musician stand out among the myriad of other aspiring singer/songwriters in the Los Angeles region. He released his debut album, Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc,, in 1986 and since then Yoakam has been a busy figure--getting involved in the movie business, but always managing to produce some forward-thinking and extremely memorable country music.

Iration - Jefferson Theater

Charlottesville, VA 22902
With all of its band members originally from the Hawaiian islands, Iration fittingly makes laid-back reggae-rock. The six musicians met while living in Isla Vista, the college town associated with UC Santa Barbara, and began jamming together in 2004, playing various college parties and building a devoted following. Since then, the band has toured throughout other California college towns and won over just as much support, eventually landing amongst iTunes' top-charting reggae musicians.
