As a member of the NCAA's Division I, the university competes in the Atlantic Coast Conference and the Football Bowl Subdivision. Virginia's men's baseball program reached national prominence after the 2008-2009 season, when it won its first College World Series. Born and raised in the rural countryside of Tullahoma, TN Dustin Lynch is a country rock singer/songwriter who began crafting his signature sound after moving to Nashville in 2003. He studied the songwriting craft at the city's famous Bluebird Cafe, began making his own compositions and eventually started to perform, making the rounds on the cafe and college circuits. Lynch earned a deal with Broken Bow Records and released his debut single "Cowboys and Angels," in 2012, quickly snagging the attention of the Nashville country music scene. By the time he released his eponymous debut album in 2012, he had captured a wide fan base across the US with his fusion of alternative country and rock and roll.

The University of Virginia School of Nursing's chapter of Multiculturalism in Nursing Today is hosting a fun filled event reaching out to minority high school students, grades 9-11, to come and learn more about medical professions. The event will include an excellent opening speaker, performances from popular UVA club acapella groups, and interactive break out sessions. Breakout sessions will be informative and interactive to allow students to get a glimpse of the different aspects of medical professions.Students attending will also get the opportunity to take a tour of the beautiful UVA campus. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
