Church of the Sacred Heart Parish is a gorgeous structure built in 1906. Spread over a vast space of 12.223 acres (4.946 hectares), it is built with the Late Gothic Revival style of architecture. The brick red color of the building compliments the architecture well and is eye catching. The church is fully functional, with regular masses and ceremonies being conducted.
Cooper's Field attracts all baseball fans in Petersburg. This field has been in the circuit for a quite while now and is a major venue for all baseball matches both domestic and national. The field has also been a home ground to a lot of leading teams and leagues. The ground is well built with comfortable seats and even has a souvenir and snack shop in its premises.
Saint Paul's Church is a historic Episcopal Church in downtown Petersburg. Built in 1855, its towering steeple is an iconic landmark on the streetscape. The majestic structure is an example of Gothic Revival architecture and the interiors of the church are replete with beautiful stained-glass panels. This parish organizes weekly Anglican liturgy services.
Virginia State University's Daniel Gymnasium is known for its premium fitness and health facilities along with being a major event venue for many of the university's events. From rallies, comedy shows, gym jam sessions, costume parties to concerts and athletic events, this place hosts it all. The vast space and comfortable arrangements make this space a meeting place of sorts for much of the campus crowd in the university.
Merchant's Hope church was owned by a English trader, who named it after a plantation and a British ship. This church that was established in 1657, was incorporated in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1969.
