Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site
Mo to Su from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PMThe Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site was established in 1992 to commemorate the 1954 Supreme court decision to end racial segregation in schools. It was formerly Monroe Elementary School, which along with Sumner Elementary School formed the centerpiece of the controversy spurring the case. Now located on site of the school, it conducts guided tours of the facility educating visitors about the story and significance of the place. Visitors are also shown award-winning movies, after which they can visit the gallery which gives information about the events that led to the decision.
